Important information
There is no running water in our cabins or shelters, however they are all located near a water source: lacs, rivers, or streams. You will also find many streams along the trail. We recommend treating the water, either by filtering it, by using water treatment tablets, or by boiling the water for ten minutes. In the winter you have to make a hole in the ice with an axe or melt the snow.
When hikers choose the deluxe package, drinking water is provided by the Traversée with the transport of their luggage and their food.
Each group, in an autonomous fashion, must bring:
- dish towels
- scrubbing sponge
- toilette paper
- matches and fire-starter or newspaper
- sleeping bag
